چکیده

The purpose of the experiments to be described in this paper was to investigate whether the rat can synthesize the glyoxaline ring of histidine, if certain possible precursors are provided in the diet. It was first shown by Rose & Cox (1924) that a diet in which prottin was supplied in the form of a casein digest freed of histidine by silver precipitation could not support growth in young rats. This was later confirmed with synthetic diets (Rose, 1938). On the other hand Burroughs, Burroughs & Mitchell (1940) claimed that histidine is not necessary for the maintenance of nitrogen equilibrium in the adult rat, and Rose, Haines, Johnson & Warner (1943) found that a positive nitrogen balance could be maintained in man in the absence of dietary histidine. It appeared to us that these various and to some extent contradictory findings

MOLECULAR MODELING AND NMR STUDY OF HISTDINIE AND ITS ANALOGUES AS , PYRIDOXAL 5 '-PHOSPHATE DEPENDENT HISTIDINE DECARBOXYLASE INHIBITORS

Molecular modeling analysis of charge density and heat of fornation by PM3 method as well as C, H NMR and 2D-NMR measurements of histidine (substrate) and some of its derivatives as histidine decarboxylase inhibitors were performed. It was established that the atom, usually nitrogen, which forms internal aldimine with pyridoxal5 -phosphate (PLP), (coenzyme), has negative and almost equal ...

Exogenous addition of histidine reduces copper availability in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae

The basic amino acid histidine inhibited yeast cell growth more severely than lysine and arginine. Overexpression of CTR1, which encodes a high-affinity copper transporter on the plasma membrane, or addition of copper to the medium alleviated this cytotoxicity. However, the intracellular level of copper ions was not decreased in the presence of excess histidine. These results indicate that hist...

New glycoside derivatives of carnosine and analogs resistant to carnosinase hydrolysis: synthesis and characterization of their copper(II) complexes.

Carnosine (β-alanyl-L-histidine) is an endogenous dipeptide widely and abundantly distributed in muscle and nervous tissues of several animal species. Many functions have been proposed for this compound, such as antioxidant and metal ion-chelator properties. However, the main limitation on therapeutic use of carnosine on pathologies related to increased oxidative stress and/or metal ion dishome...

New Strategy for the Synthesis of Morpholine Cores: Synthesis from N-Propargylamines

Functionalized morpholines have attracted much attention due to their potential biological activities. Despite the wide importance of morpholine derivatives in drug design of various pharmacological agents, the development of new approaches to their synthesis remains relatively unexplored. Given the low cost and easy availability of N-propargylamines, the synthesis of functionalized morphol...
